Thanks for this man. Very thorough. I need a clutch on my Elantra? but do I have the guts to try this? Probably not but we’ll see!cheers.

Awsome thanks for the info. On my 98 accord I changed the tranny oil two winters ago in -20 weather and cracked the fill plug port. So thanks to? jb weld it’s sealed tight. I will use the speed sensor port for filling her up next oil change. Thanks for the insight

  3. treylogy3 says:

Should i replace the clutch master cyclinder and the slave cyclinder while im down too? not having problems with my clutch petal or nothing but i dont wanna have problems with the transmission for a long time. what do you suggest??

  4. MohadibTheHorrible says:

if? your clutch slave cylinder is external, I would not worry about it. I just did a Ford Rangers clutch that had the clutch slave cylinder in the transmisson itself! If it had been mine, I might have been tempted to replace the cylinder. lol Fords :D

  5. bastec666 says:

its not in the transmission, its on the side of it, there’s a little rubber grommet that stops stuff from getting into the tranny, but its right there on the front side of the tranny (looking into the car).only replace it if its leaking, if its not leaking, then there is no problem. I would advise against it, because replacing it means bleeding the system much like breaks but MUCH harder? to do. so only do it if it leaks. IF it leaks while putting it back on, its normal, don’t worry.

  6. MohadibTheHorrible says:

No, man, on this 98 ranger (iirc) v6 3.0, the slave? cylnder is in the tranny, less im horribly mistaken.

  7. bastec666 says:

No sir, I meant on the? Honda :D

  8. bastec666 says:

replace plugs n wires, I guarantee if you got 115/116 miles it DESPERATELY need spark plugs and new wires are usually a must. You should find the haynes service manual for your year make and model and see what is needed for each bit of mileage mark. Like honda’s need to replace the water pump every XX,000 amount of miles, I believe its 60 but I don’t have? my book at my desk.

  9. bastec666 says:

master cylinder and slave cylinder, if either leak you could mistake the clutch for slipping when its just the cylinder. who ever replaced the clutch should have checked the master cylinder and slave cylinder for? leaks. One of mine is SLOWLY leaking, so I have to replace them tomorrow when I replace the clutch.

    good point bastec666?
