Essay writing…Plz help?
ok, so before anything i know i’m going to sound incredibly stupid and i don’t think this is considered cheating but if it is make sure to tell me lol.
right, so i’m in 8th grade at school and so we all moved from primary school where we didn’t do any essay writing and last year we were focused on grammar/poetry writing and stuff like that, and my teacher this year expects us to know how to write one.
So the essy topic is ‘What makes a successful story is the careful structuring of its plot and its well developed characters’, (we have 2 movies to ‘discuss with reference) I’m not asking you to write me an essay for me, i just want you to give me an idea on how to start because i’m sure once i’ve got the start i’ll be able to do the rest easily and i’m asking on here because its school holidays so no teacher and mum and dad are at work.

it sounds like a persuasive essay you have to write. i’ll describe the 3 types
ESSAY #1: PERSUASIVE:
once we pick something we have to persuade him to think, or to agree with us, we have to find three (3) pieces of evidence that supports it. and in one piece of evidence we have to convince whoever reads it that that point is valid and/or important. it’s a good idea to put the most important reason as your last.
ESSAY #2: EXPLANATORY:
you explain how-to do something. simple enough.
there’s a 3rd one that i can’t remeber, anyway, i think that you have to do essay #1
you should use a opening that dosent reveal much but hooks the reader remember to use conectivs and to use a rhetorical question never use but/and/because find words to replace these never go off the topic
Introduction
Firstly you make a topic sentence of what the introduction is going to be about e.g The main theme in the text ‘…’ is justice.
Then you use Reference to the question. e.g Grammar is essential to the successful writing of an essay. Then you write a sentence introducing your arguments (paragraphs) and then you write about what each of the paragraphs are going to be about (one sentence for each paragraph) Lastly you write a linking back statement to the topic sentence.

Lastly you use a conclusion which is basically the same as an introduction
