I just got out of an abusive relationship. We weren’t married just living together. The car he is driving is in my name, the car and insurance. He isn’t listed on the car at all. It was paid for with my tax return money through cash. But it was bought from his parents. Do I have rights to the car? Is there any way he can fight it? I don’t want to have anything else to do with him. I am moving in to a shelter for Domestic Violence victims. But I am going to need that car.

The car without ??? IS YOURS! Just make sure you have all the paper work or at least the ins. and title. Call police have them bring you to get car and ALL KEYS. Make sure you let them know whats going on and why you need their help. It does not matter that you bought the car from his parents. Do not let him know your coming for the car he may do something to it. GOOD LUCK
