Ripped

You reached down and gave your hand,
rescued me from drowning, eventually dry land..
Everything was perfect, similar to nectar in honeyed tea,
you and I together, I hoped for eternity.

I do not know when it happened, try as I might,
little things, sparse stuff, afterwards we’d have a fight.
Make-up sex is heaven, but how most could I take,
It seemed to me, because live a lie, the attribute was fake,

Then one balmy morning, only similar to any other,
the phone would ring, you pronounced it was your brother.
I proposed to get suspicious, the phone would regularly ring,
You were regularly angry, the hurtful difference they sting.

You reached inside, low inside, and ripped detached my heart,
