The main character and narrator of the story.

Caitlin-She is thirteen years old, has long blonde hair that tumbles down her back, glittering emerald eyes and a bright, cheeky smile. She wears skinny jeans of varying colours and bright coloured hoodies. The only make-up she wears is dark eyeliner. She hangs around mainly with a group of boys, joking around and causing mischief. She is very comedic, caring, stubborn, rebellious and arguementative. She is feisty. Very musical; listens to bands like Fall Out Boy, loves Pop and Rock music.

Plot

Caitlin and her mother, Sherry, live with her mother’s friends Carson, Donna and Mitch.

Caitlins father turns up out of the blue and tries to worm his way back into her and her mother’s lives. This causes upset with Carson as he has never been able to forget the love affair he had with Sherry around fourteen years ago and still has deep feelings for her. So not to ruin Caitlin, who he has always cared a lot about, and her father’s chance to bond, Carson moves away. Deciding she is unhappy with things the way they are, Caitlin runs away to find Carson having been told where he was by Donna and Mitch; she also discovers that Carson and her mother were once a couple. However, Caitlin finds herself in danger when a strange man starts to follow her and she prays for some one to rescue her and is surprised by who does. She then discovers that her relationship and bond with Carson runs a lot deeper than what she thought.
